About the ranch
Paicines Ranch consists of approximately 7000 acres of rangeland, 550 acres of row crop ground, and 25 acres of vineyard, all certified organic. In all 3 areas, the Ranch is progressing towards more perennial systems, more complexity, and more diversity.
It is home to a team of educators, farmers and ranchers, facilitators, ecologists, investors, designers, and storytellers who are passionate about bringing people together to connect with the land and each other.
The Ranch will serve as our launching pad of the pilot program - Capital Commons Summit #1. It is a place to question what has been done and reconsider what could be done. Together, we will have conversations with leaders in the field of ecological economics that encourage complexity and beauty as leading drivers of impact.

Houses and cottages are centrally located on the ranch. Options for guests to stay in private rooms or shared cottages. While the Director will organize lodging based on student preferences and location, here is the link to explore what the ranch offers.

All meals will be served out of the on-site dining facility - The Overlook. Chef Maggie Fernandez and her talented culinary team create menus that incorporate pasture-raised meats from the ranch and locally-sourced, seasonal organic ingredients. The convenience of dining on-site, as a whole group, will enhance our opportunity to connect as a cohort over nourishing meals.

Paicines Ranch is nestled in the heart of San Benito County among the sweeping oak-studded hillsides, about one hour south of San Jose, an hour inland from Santa Cruz, and two hours south of San Francisco.
If arriving from out of state, San Jose Airport is the most convenient option. Given the nature of this small group of attendees, we will coordinate a couple of collective airport shuttles.
